Tears in a Bottle
Have you ever been so angry, or felt so misunderstood, that you found yourself crying?
Even though, every single fiber of your being didn't want to cry; the tears could not be held back!
Psalm 56:8 "You have taken account of my wanderings; put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your book?"
Wow - David, the one God called "a man after My own heart" was convinced that our tears matter to Almighty God!
Did you catch it? Read that Psalm, again!
What kind of tears does HE collect? Worthy tears? Righteous tears? Valid tears?
What an amazing grace HE has toward us! HE collects "every" tear!
"Every" tear is valuable to HIM; valuable enough, that HE collects them... every single one! HE collects our "mad" tears. The "bitter" tears. The inexplainable, "hormonal" tears. Our "misunderstood" tears. "Painful" tears. HE collects the righteous ones! But, I find it most amazing that HE does not "qualify" the tears, that are worthy of HIS collection! ("We" are the ones who tend to qualify ours, and other's sorrows.)
It's easy to get caught up by the daily grind of this life! We have bills to pay, obligations to meet, relationships to deal with... and... an evil one, who is choosing who he will wage a spiritual war against, next! (1 Peter 5:8)
God wants the firstfruits of ourselves, spending time with HIM, every day, putting on HIS armor!
The days that I find myself being whiney in spirit or having a pity party; the Spirit jerks a knot in my tail and I can always link these thoughts and life-draining emotions, back to the way I started my day: Zero time with HIM! Zero time in HIS Word! Zero effort to put on God's armor!
Yet... even in the tears that were brought, upon myself, because of my own sinfulness, HE cares!
Pastor Chuck Swindoll says "A teardrop on earth summons the King of Heaven." He describes tears as coming forth, when we are limited verbally, and that they can, seemingly, spring up, out of nowhere!
Many, still view tears as weakness, at best, and immaturity, at worst! How about this? Tears simply mean we are human.
HIS amazing grace extends toward HIS children... even in our sorrow!
"Every" tear has meaning and HE notices every single one!
This should bring great pause, the next time you 'choose' to bring someone to tears: You are making a daughter, or son, of the King, weep... and each teardrop is so valuable, that HE saves them!
I challenge you: If you are finding yourself in a season of bitter tears, RUN to HIM! HE is so very faithful!! HE can be trusted! Wrestle with HIM!
HE is close to you! (Psalm 34:18)
Be encouraged! The day is coming soon, that Revelaton 21:4 & Isaiah 25:8 will be our reality: "and HE will wipe away every tear from their eyes..." "... and the Lord, God will wipe tears away from all faces..."
What a day that will be!
[Disclaimer: The only tears HE is not compassionate towards, are the fake tears; the tears of manipulation.]
